Green Door Psychology does not currently direct bill insurance providers. Detailed receipts will be provided after payment for you to submit to your insurance provider or retain for tax purposes.
Psychological services provided in private practice in Ontario are generally not covered by OHIP. However, many extended health benefit plans and health spending accounts reimburse some or all of the cost of services provided by a registered psychologist. Please contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your coverage, reimbursement limits, referral requirements, and whether services provided by a psychologist are included under your plan.

A credit card is required on file for all bookings. For assessments, fees are billed in stages as services are completed. Initial assessment fees are billed following the intake and direct testing sessions, and the remaining balance is due at the feedback meeting. This final balance includes the completed scoring, interpretation, report writing, and feedback session. Receipts are provided after each payment and may be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement, depending on your plan coverage.

Your appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. For cancellations and appointment changes, please provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, are subject to a late cancellation or no-show fee equivalent to the hourly rate of the reserved service. If you or a member of your household is feeling unwell, please contact us as soon as possible. Where clinically appropriate, intake or feedback appointments may be moved to video or telephone. Direct testing appointments may need to be rescheduled.

In Ontario, the term decision-making responsibility is used rather than custody. Parents are generally equally entitled to decision-making responsibility unless a separation agreement or court order states otherwise. Where decision-making responsibility is shared, consent from both parents may be required before services begin. If one parent has sole decision-making responsibility, or if a legal guardian has authority to consent, a copy of the relevant court order, separation agreement, or guardianship documentation must be provided before services begin. In some circumstances, Ontario law also allows a capable minor to consent to treatment directly.

Assessment reports and personal health information are released in accordance with Ontario privacy law and professional standards. The results of the assessment are typically reviewed during the feedback meeting, and a copy of the final report is then provided to the client or appropriate substitute decision-maker.
Written consent is required before sharing reports or other personal health information with third parties, including schools, physicians, tutors, or other professionals, unless disclosure is otherwise required or permitted by law. Green Door Psychology takes reasonable steps to protect the privacy and confidentiality of personal health information in accordance with Ontario standards.
